The Shoresh David Statement of Our Faith

Unity in our Statement of Faith, Liberty in our values, Love at all times

The Bible – We believe...

The Bible is God's written revelation to man. All sixty-six books comprised of Genesis thru Revelation are equally inspired by the
Spirit and constitute the complete Word of God.

The Bible is the inerrant, unchangeable, infallible, prophetic, authoritative Word of God, for all people ~ for all time. The Bible is our
highest authority in all matters of faith, life, and practice.

God – We believe...

There is only one true, eternally-living God ~ the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

God is One, existing in three co-equal and co-eternal persons; He is triune: the Father (ha-Av), the Son (ha-Ben: Yeshua), and the
Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh), each equally deserving worship and obedience.

God is Perfect in all His attributes: holy, infinite, unchanging, just, loving, all-powerful.

God is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and knows all things from eternity past to eternity future.

All things were created by God and He is therefore deserving of all our worship, praise and honor.

God the Father – We believe...

As the only absolute and omnipotent Ruler in the universe, He is sovereign in creation, wisdom, and redemption.

God, the Father, continually upholds, directs, and governs all creatures and events in His sovereignty, while allowing free will for
          all mankind.

God, the Father, saves men from condemnation. He adopts as His own, all people who come to Him through His Son,
          Yeshua the Messiah.

Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) – We believe...

Yeshua is God, who came to earth in the flesh; fully God (Deity) and fully man.

Yeshua is King of kings and Lord of lord; He is the promised Messiah of Israel.

Yeshua is the only begotten Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of Miriam, a Jewish virgin, and is in the
          lineage of King David.

Yeshua willingly became the final atonement for the sins of the world by the shedding of His blood.

Yeshua died by crucifixion, was physically resurrected in three days, and ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of
          the Father.

Salvation (Yeshua) is the goal of the Torah and spoken of by the Prophets to be the Redeemer of the world.

Yeshua will return in the end of days to establish His kingdom on earth and will reign on the throne of David.

Yeshua intercedes only on behalf of all those who believe in Him and call upon His name.

Yeshua is the final Judge of all mankind. Those who believe in Yeshua as Lord and Savior will be resurrected to eternal
          life with God.

Those who fail to place their trust in Yeshua, as Lord and Savior, will be in a place of torment, forever separated from

Ruach haKodesh (The Holy Spirit) – We believe...

Ruach haKodesh is God and part of His Tri-Unity.

Ruach haKodesh is ever-present within us, as our Helper and Comforter, to glorify and testify of Yeshua.

Ruach haKodesh permanently indwells, regenerates, and seals every believer.

Ruach haKodesh empowers all believers, and sovereignly imparts spiritual gifts to each believer, for the purpose of
edifying and equipping the Body of Messiah.

Ruach haKodesh guides, teaches, sanctifies, comforts, and intercedes for each believer.

Ruach haKodesh convicts the world of sin and unrighteousness, and brings judgment.

Salvation (Eternal Life) – We believe...

Man is created in the image of God.

As a result of Adam’s sin of disobedience, sin and death entered the world separating all men from God.

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and all are in need of redemption.

The only way for man to be reconciled to God, be cleansed of sin, and receive everlasting life with Him, is to receive
          Yeshua’s atoning blood sacrifice.

God’s free gift of salvation is wholly by grace, only through faith, based on Yeshua’s atoning work, and not on the basis
          of human merit or work.

God’s salvation leads us to repentance and good works, through the power of God’s Spirit.

The Shoresh David Statement Of Our Faith Scripture Verses

The Bible – We believe...

Deuteronomy 4:1-2    “Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and ordinances that I am teaching you to do, so that you may live and go in and possess the land that Adonai the God of your fathers is giving you. You must not add to the word that I am commanding you or take away from it—in order to keep the mitzvot of Adonai your God that I am commanding you.

Joshua 1:8   This book of the Torah should not depart from your mouth—you are to meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. For then you will make your ways prosperous and then you will be successful.

Psalm 1:1-3   Happy is the one who has not walked in the advice of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of scoffers. But his delight is in the Torah of Adonai, and on His Torah he meditates day and night. He will be like a planted tree over streams of water, producing its fruit during its season. Its leaf never droops—but in all he does, he succeeds.

Psalm 119:11  I have treasured Your word in my heart, so I might not sin against You.

Psalm 119:105  Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Proverbs 30:5-6 Every word of God is purified. He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words, or else He will rebuke You and prove you a liar.

Isaiah 40:8  The grass withers, the flower fades. But the word of our God stands forever.

Jeremiah 31:30-31 “Behold, days are coming”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah<span">—not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they broke My covenant, though I was a husband to them.” it is a declaration of Adonai.

Matthew 5:17-19  “Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets! I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. Amen, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or serif shall ever pass away from the Torah until all things come to pass. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 24:35  Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.

John 17:17 “Make them holy in the truth. Your word is truth.

I Thessalonians 2:13  For this reason, we also thank God constantly that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it truly is—the word of God, which does its work in you who believe.

I Timothy 3:14-17 These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly. But if I delay, I write so you may know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God—which is the community of the living God, a pillar and foundation of truth. Now beyond question, great is the mystery of godliness: He was revealed in the flesh, Vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Trusted throughout the world, Taken up in glory.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword—piercing right through to a separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

I Peter 1:23-25 You have been born again—not from perishable seed but imperishable — through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All humanity is like grass,And all its glory like a wildflower. The grass withers, and the flower falls off, But the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was proclaimed as Good News to you.

II Peter 1:20-21 Above all understand this: no prophecy of Scripture comes about from a person’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever brought forth by human will; rather, people spoke from God as they were moved by the Ruach ha-Kodesh.

God - We believe:   God the Father– We believe:

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness! Let them rule over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the sky, over the livestock, over the whole earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the land.”

Genesis 3:22 Then Adonai Elohim said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil. So now, in case he stretches out his hand and takes also from the Tree of Life and eats and lives forever,”

Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one"

Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of Adonai saying: “Whom should I send, and who will go for Us?” So I said, “Hineni. Send me.”

Isaiah 48:16-17 Draw near to Me, hear this: Since the beginning, I have not spoken in secret. From the time it existed, I was there. So now Adonai Elohim has sent Me, and His Ruach.” Thus says Adonai, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am Adonai your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.

Psalm 110:1 A psalm of David. Adonai declares to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”

Matthew 3:16-17 After being immersed,Yeshua rose up out of the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Ruach Elohim descending like a dove and coming upon Him. And behold, a voice from the heavens said, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased!

Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Ruach ha-Kodesh,

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were made through Him, and apart from Him nothing was made that has come into being.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. We looked upon His glory, the glory of the one and only from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 15:26 “When the Helper comes—whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—He will testify about Me.

I Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God—so we might come to know the things freely given to us by God.

II Corinthians 13:13 The grace of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah and the love of God and the fellowship of the Ruach ha-Kodesh be with you all. Amen.

I Peter 1:1-2 Peter, an emissary of Messiah Yeshua, To the sojourners of the Diaspora in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia—chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, set apart by the Ruach for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Yeshua the Messiah: May grace and shalom be multiplied to you.

I John 5:1-7 Everyone who believes that Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves the one born of Him. We know that we love God’s children by this—when we love God and obey His commandments. For this is the love of God—that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. And the victory that has overcome the world is this—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world, if not the one who believes that Yeshua is Ben-Elohim? Messiah Yeshua is the One who came by water and blood—not by water only, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the One who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify—

Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) - We believe:

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your lives—for it is the blood that makes atonement because of the life.

Psalm 2:7-12 I will declare the decree of Adonai. He said to me: “You are My Son—today I have become Your Father.  Ask Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance, and the far reaches of the earth as Your possession. You shall break the nations with an iron scepter. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s jar.” So now, O kings, be wise, take warning, O judges of the earth! Serve Adonai with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish along your way—since His wrath may flare up suddenly. Happy is everyone taking refuge in Him!

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore Adonai Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive. When she is giving birth to a son, she will call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:5-6 For to us a child is born, a son will be given to us, and the government will be upon His shoulder. His Name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, My Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace. (Pele-joez-el-gibbor-Abi-ad-sar-shalom;) Of the increase of His government and shalom there will be no end—on the throne of David and over His kingdom—to establish it and uphold it through justice and righteousness from now until forevermore. The zeal of Adonai-Tzva’ot will accomplish this.

Daniel 9:24-26 “Seventy weeks are decreed concerning your people and your holy city, to put an end to transgression to bring sin to an end, to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Holy of Holies. So know and understand: From the issuing of the decree to restore and to build Jerusalem until the time Mashiach, the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and 62 weeks. It will be rebuilt, with plaza and moat, but it will be in times of distress. Then after the 62 weeks Mashiach will be cut off and have nothing. Then the people of a prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. But his end will come like a flood. Until the end of the war that is decreed there will be destruction.

Zechariah 12:10 “Then I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication, when they will look toward Me whom they pierced. They will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son and grieve bitterly for Him, as one grieves for a firstborn.

Matthew 1:18-25 Now the birth of Yeshua the Messiah happened this way. When His mother Miriam was engaged to Joseph but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Ruach ha-Kodesh. And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her publicly, made up his mind to dismiss her secretly. But while he considered these things, behold, an angel of Adonai appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Miriam as your wife, for the Child conceived in her is from the Ruach ha-Kodesh. She will give birth to a son; and you shall call His name Yeshua, for He will save His people from their sins. ”Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by Adonai through the prophet, saying,  “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and give birth to a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which means “God with us.” When Joseph woke up from his sleep, he did as the angel of Adonai commanded him and took Miriam as his wife. But he did not know her intimately until she had given birth to a Son. And he called His name Yeshua.

John 1:12 But whoever did receive Him, those trusting in His name, to these He gave the right to become children of God.

Colossians 1:15-20 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created — in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen, whether thrones or angelic powers or rulers or authorities. All was created through Him and for Him. He exists before everything, and in Him all holds together. He is the head of the body, His community. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead — so that He might come to have first place in all things. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, making peace through the blood of His cross — whether things on earth or things in heaven!

Revelation 17:14 They will make war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them—because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with Him are called and chosen and faithful.”

Ruach haKodesh (The Holy Spirit) – We believe:

Matthew 4:1 Then Yeshua was led by the Ruach into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Luke 12:12 because the Ruach ha-Kodesh will teach you at that time what is necessary to say.”

John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is of no benefit. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and are life!

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Ruach ha-Kodesh whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of everything that I said to you.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Ruach ha-Kodesh has come upon you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and through all Judah, and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 2:4 They were all filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and began to speak in other tongues as the Ruach enabled them to speak out.

Romans 5:5 And hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Ruach ha-Kodesh who was given to us.

Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Ruach helps in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Ruach Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.

I Corinthians 2:10 But God revealed these things to us through the Ruach. For the Ruach searches all things—even the depths of God.

I Corinthians 6:19 Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Ruach ha-Kodesh who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

I Corinthians 12:7 But to each person is given the manifestation of the Ruach for the benefit of all.

II Corinthians 3:17-18 Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Ruach Adonai is, there is freedom. But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory—just as from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

I John 5:6 Messiah Yeshua is the One who came by water and blood—not by water only, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the One who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

Titus 3:5 not by deeds of righteousness which we had done ourselves, but because of His mercy — He saved us through the mikveh of rebirth and renewing of the Ruach ha-Kodesh,

Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Ruach, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Ruach is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—against such things there is no law.

Salvation (Eternal Life) – We believe

Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness! Let them rule over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the sky, over the livestock, over the whole earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the land.”God created humankind in His image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.

Isaiah 43:10-13 “You are My witnesses”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“and My Servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me no God was formed, and there will none after Me. “I, I am Adonai—and there is no savior beside Me. I alone declared, saved and proclaimed, and not some foreign god among you. So you are My witnesses”—it is a declaration of Adonai“and I am God. From eternity, I am He. None can deliver from My hand. I act, and who can reverse it?”

Isaiah 44:6 Thus says Adonai, Israel’s King and his Redeemer, Adonai-Tzva’ot: “I am the first, and the last, and there is no God beside Me.

Isaiah 53:6 We all like sheep have gone astray. Each of us turned to his own way. So Adonai has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 59:2 Rather, your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God. Your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear.

Isaiah 64:5 For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a filthy garment, and all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away, like the wind.

Joel 2:32 (Joel 3:5) Then all who call on Adonai’s Name will escape, for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be rescue, as Adonai has said, among the survivors whom Adonai is calling.”

Psalm 103:8-12 Adonai is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and plentiful in mercy. He will not always accuse, nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not treated us according to our sins, or repaid us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His mercy for those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Matthew 26:28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the removal of sins.

John 1:12 But whoever did receive Him, those trusting in His name, to these He gave the right to become children of God.

John 1:29 The next day, John sees Yeshua coming to him and says, “Behold, the Lamb God who takes away the sin of the world!

John 3:36 He who trusts in the Son has eternal life. He who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

John 5:24 Amen, amen I tell you, whoever hears My word and trusts the One who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed over from death into life.

John 11:25-26 Yeshua said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life! Whoever believes in Me, even if he dies, shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

John 14:6 Yeshua said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life! No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Acts 2:21 And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of Adonai shall be saved.’

Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved!”

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 5:8-12 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us.How much more then, having now been set right by His blood, shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him. For if, while we were yet enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also boast in God through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, through whom we have now received reconciliation. So then, just as sin came into the world through one man and death through sin, in the same way death spread to all men because all sinned.

Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may abound? May it never be! How can we who died to sin still live in it?

Romans 10:9-10 & 13 For if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart it is believed for righteousness, and with the mouth it is confessed for salvation. For “Everyone who calls upon the name of Adonai shall be saved.”

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, those who practice homosexuality, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, slanderers, swindlers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God. That is what some of you were—but you were washed, you were made holy, you were set right in the name of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah and by the Ruach of our God.

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not from yourselves—it is the gift of God. It is not based on deeds, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship—created in Messiah Yeshua for good deeds, which God prepared beforehand so we might walk in them.
