Shabbat School
“And that from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to make you wise,
leading to salvation through trusting in Messiah Yeshua.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (TLV)
We at Shoresh David believe that our children are a gift from God, and are the future of the Messianic Jewish movement. Therefore we are committed to providing a safe teaching environment which establishes a solid foundation for our children in the teachings of the Old and New Covenants (from Genesis to Revelation) and develops a strong Jewish identity within a Messianic culture.
Shoresh David is concerned about the spiritual development and growth of every child. The curriculum provides a wide range of age-related activities that include an understanding of the biblical feasts and holy days, beginning Hebrew language (Aleph Bet), Bible teachings, singing, fun games and activities, and basic Jewish education. Each child is encouraged to have a personal relationship with Yeshua as Messiah.
The curriculum is divided into two age groups:
Club Maccabee - older children, ages 7- 12 years
Torah Tots - young children, ages 4-6 years
Classes are held during service and last for at least an hour until the children are dismissed back to the Sanctuary and to their parents. The Shabbat School is under the direct supervision of the Shabbat School Coordinator and supported by a resource team.
